Write your life

Sat 9 Aug

Yesterday was a very stressful day. After four months, the repairs to my car were finally done and I went to pick it up at three o’clock. I had to wait an hour for someone to do a blue slip final check on my car, then I paid for the repairs and drove straight to the place where we register our vehicles in Australia. For me here in my state, it is called Service NSW.

The repairs had taken so long, my vehicle was four months out of rego, so I had to take the blue slip into Service NSW and reregister the car. I hadn’t realised but this meant I had to remove the licence plates from my car and hand them in. Crouching in the gutter, removing my licence plates was an experience, I was not dressed for it but I got it done.

They sold me new plates which I then had to attach to my car front and back. If I can avoid ever reliving this day, I will. I did not enjoy the time pressure between four and five pm, in particular

Once it was all done, I sat in my car a while and just breathed. After having no car to drive for four months I was relieved more than excited. I drove to Maccas and bought myself an iced coffee. It was so good.

Today, after wishing I had my car back every day for four months, I’m just chilling at home, happy at knowing if I do want to go anywhere I can get into my car and go.
